Apple recently unveiled the iPhone 14 and customers who want to upgrade their device are likely comparing it to last year’s iPhone 13. Let’s take a look at what’s new in the iPhone 14 and how it compares to the previous generation.
The iPhone 14 is slightly smaller than the iPhone 13, coming in around 5.4 inches tall and 2.8 inches wide. This is largely due to the thin bezels and reduced size of the home button. Despite the smaller body, the iPhone 14 offers a larger screen compared to the 13, with a 6.7 inch Retina HD display.
Under the hood, the iPhone 14 offers a processor that’s built using the same 5 nanometer process as the iPhone 13. There still has yet to be an performance benchmarks between the two, but Apple claims the phones will have similar performance.
The two phones have nearly identical battery and storage system capabilities, with the iPhone 14 offering a few minor improvements. Notably, the iPhone 14 can support up to 512 GB of storage compared to the iPhone 13’s 256 GB. Battery life, however, is largely the same: both phones can last for up to 18 hours of usage before needing to be charged.
The two phones also offer largely similar camera features as well. Each features a 12 MP wide angle lens, an ultra wide angle lens, and a telephoto lens. However, the iPhone 14 does have minor improvements such as enhanced Night Mode so users can take clearer shots in low light settings.
In the end, customers who are considering an upgrade from their iPhone 13 should weigh the minor improvements that the iPhone 14 provides. The smaller body size and larger screen is a definite upgrade, as is the increased storage capabilities. However, other major features between the two phones are largely the same, so customers should make a decision based on their individual needs and preferences.
