The Kia Sonet and the Hyundai Venue are two of the most popular sub 4-metre SUVs out in the market now. Both of these cars, though of different brands, have all the qualities that people look for in cars these days – comfort, performance, safety and affordability. But, how do both these cars, actually stack up against each other?
When we compare the engine specs, the Kia Sonet has two petrol, one diesel and one hybrid engine, while the Hyundai Venue has two petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine of the Sonet has 1.2 litre and 1.0 litre engines, with power outputs of 83 hp and 118 hp respectively, while the diesel engine is the 1.5 litre with power output of 100 hp. While the Venue has 1.0 litre and 1.2 litre engines, with outputs of 117 hp and 83 hp respectively. Both of these cars also have the option of an AT gearbox.
In terms of features, the Kia Sonet boasts of features like a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system, with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, while the Hyundai Venue has a bigger 8 inch touch screen system. The Sonet also has power adjustable driver’s seat and a Bose sound system. Both of the cars also have a start-stop button, cruise control and parking sensors.
In terms of comfort, the Kia Sonet offers superior comfort, with its well-cushioned seats that offer great legroom and headroom as compared to the Hyundai Venue. Though, the Kia Sonet has bigger tires to offer better grip on road, the Hyundai Venue has a better ground clearance than the Sonet.
Safety is one area where both the cars stand at the same level. Both cars have a host of safety features, like the ABS (Antilock Braking System) and dual front airbags, as well as rear parking sensors and a rear camera with guidelines.
So, it can be said that both the Kia Sonet and the Hyundai Venue offer different features, depending on what you’re looking for. The Sonet has a more powerful engine, better features and better comfort, while the Venue has a slightly better ground clearance and more features.
